Originally named "Midi Music for the Internet" (till the end of April 2006) the site was created in November 2002.

Intended to create music for IncredimMail System it included the MIDI files (.mid) along with the Incredimail music files (.imw) it grew up to what it is today with more than 715 titles.
All the songs were not created with computer software which transform CDs, LPs or cassette music into Midi Files but were created from scratch.

FIRST: Sheetmusic are selected from mostly University Archives (Duke University, Indianna State University, California (Duggan) University, Lester S. Levy Collection, Music for the Nation American, Library of Congress and more...).

SECOND: Each staff on the sheetmusic is numbered so that instrumentation is completely synchronized. Each instrument is individually played on an electronic keyboard and recorded on the computer. The recording is then checked for stereo balance, tempo (speed) and volume of each instrument. Finally percussions are added. The final recording is kept on the computer for days or even weeks and listened to repeatedly until completely satisfied. This is usually at this point that many variations are added to break the monotony of a music passage.

On average a minute of recording takes about one hour and a half of work. A song lasting 4 minutes would take about 6 hours in production. Some songs have reached up to 20 hours.

In the last four years the site "Midi Music for the Internet" has moved from webhost to webhost at least a dozen times requiring a huge amount of time uploading over 1500 files to the new location.


That is the major reason I have decided to obtain a Domain Name (permanent address on the Internet). My visitors will be able to find me no matter who's hosting my site.

My webhosting is by "Bravenet.com", a very reliable host. I signed a contract with them for the next two years. Other advantages are that they accept all types of files and they will not put annoying advertising popups or banners not related to the site.


HELP IS NEEDED

"Midi Music for the Internet" has provided very little financial help for all I have invested. In the last four years I believe I have received a total of $ 80.00 in donation.

I had to come with some ideas to help financing the site. Donations will still be accepted.

I also have created a CD containing all the songs on the site in MIDI, IncrediMail and Karaoke formats. Included on the CD is the software for "VanBasco Midi Karaoke player" along with a variety of skins. "VanBasco Player is easy to understand and easy to operate. I've been using it for years with complete satisfaction. Permission from www.vanbasco.com was granted to me to add their free software on my CD.

This CD is an open CD which means that you can add new songs coming in the next updated. Each update will be numbered starting from "Update 101" and so on. It is also recommended that a copy of the CD be made in case your CD/DVD burner might not be compatible. Personally I always keep two copies of my website on CDs in case something goes wrong.
